Annual Implementation Plans

An annual implementation plan is essentially a school-level work plan. It describes how the key improvement strategies in the school strategic plan (or school charter) will be put into operation during the year.

The annual implementation plan outlines:

  • the activities and programs (operations and practice) that will be undertaken in order to take the school to its next level of work. It focuses on laying out the steps for implementing the key improvement strategies that have been identified in the strategic plan (or school charter)
  • how the operations and practice are to be resourced, who is to be involved and the associated timelines
  • the achievement milestones that will be used to monitor the progress made in that year – how the school will know whether it has been successful?

In Term 4 every Gippsland school receives a tailor made template in which to reflect on their progress against the targets stated in their annual implementation plan. This is designed to assist schools to articulate focused strategies and document milestones for the following year.

Schools are supported in the development of these plans by way of plan readers and regionally convened forums. Details of these forums will be outlined in the 2008 Gippsland Professional Learning Program.
