Post Compulsory & Pathways

Gippsland Region provides individual school support and advice across the post-compulsory education and training  area. This includes two senior certificates of education; Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) and Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning (VCAL), and also involves support for Vocational Education in Schools (VETis), the Managed Individual Pathway Program (MIPs) and Careers and Transition initiatives.

Local Learning and Employment Networks (anchor to LLEN links below) are also an excellent source for local support.

Regional strategy aims to improve student outcomes and support school development. It is based around two key regional project areas:

1. VCE Strategy

The VCE strategy aims to improve VCE outcomes for Gippsland students through initiatives such as VCE study networks, VCE study virtual networks, and student engagement programs.

2. Regional Participation Strategy

The Regional Participation Strategy is mainly embodied in the Gippsland Youth Options Commitment. This aims to improve education and training outcomes by building a collective responsibility across sectors.

Professional interaction and professional learning

A range of regional professional learning programs and on-going networks are available. Schools and teachers are encouraged to participate and collaborate with colleagues.

Teachers should check PDOnline (www.pd-online.com.au) at the beginning of the year to locate relevant programs. They should also ensure they are registered with their respective EdNA group. (http://www.groups.edna.edu.au/)

Individual assistance is also available for schools and teachers. Contact the post compulsory and pathways officer in the office regarding any post compulsory issues.
